About Me

✨ J.C. from Letters from the Spectrum

Hello, I’m J.C. — a Brazilian woman, engineer, autistic writer, and the heart behind Letters from the Spectrum.

I was diagnosed with autism at the age of 40 — a moment that brought clarity, grief, relief, and a deeper sense of self. For much of my life, I moved through the world feeling “different,” without knowing why. Writing became my language. A way to exist honestly, especially in the spaces where words were hard to find.

This blog is a reflection of my inner world — a space to share personal letters, thoughts, and stories from life on the spectrum. I don’t write to explain autism. I write to express it. Through emotion, silence, music, and the details that live between the lines.

🎵 Music Is My Compass

I’m an autodidact by nature — always learning, exploring, observing.
Music is my anchor in the storm. It helps me regulate emotions, transition between worlds, and connect with life’s rhythm when everything feels chaotic. I don’t just hear music — I live through it.

💡 A Little More About Me:

  • I’m a neurodivergent Brazilian woman with a background in engineering
  • I love deep conversations, gentle truths, and poetic silences
  • I believe sensitivity is strength, and softness is power
  • I’m building a quiet space for connection, inclusion, and authenticity

Thank you for being here.
For listening between the words.
For walking with me — letter by letter.

With warmth and harmony,
J.C.
